Nona Taite, LCSW. Culturally sensitive and solution-focused when serving individuals who have suffered cultural trauma, abuse, and neglect. This approach is important for addressing the unique needs and challenges in urban communities.
My approach
I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapies, Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, and Schema Focus Therapy during my therapy with my clients.
My focus
Usually work with stabilized clients who are not in a severe crisis. Anxiety, anxiety related to medical diagnosis/illness, Depression, Grief, loss, and stress management
My communication style
Positive, Acceptance, open/honest, meet the client where they are at, non-judgmental, and easygoing. Every client can come and be their true self to build a healthy, effective, and positive therapeutic relationship
My journey to mental healthcare
give back to urban communities and have a platform for people of color to identify with during the therapeutic process. Have someone that understands mental, physical, and emotional abuse that is not spoken of in cultural communities.
My goals for you
Identify their goals, ask what outcome they expect from the therapeutic process, focus on a therapeutic model, create measurable SMART goals, create an action plan, and then track their progress
My first session with you
Introduction, limits of confidentiality, Why are they seeking treatment, and what are their expectations
