Shawn Phalen, LMFT. I believe we all deserve to live a life that is fulfilling and deeply satisfying, where one can embody their truest self. I have 14 years of experience working in different healthcare settings. I am particularly skilled in working with individuals who struggle with substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, and loss. I also work with couples and families. My goal as I work with clients is to help facilitate personal growth, increase self-esteem, and meet each client where they are in the process of self-discovery.
My approach
I am a very client-centered therapist. I help facilitate increasing self-awareness, make desired changes, increase self-esteem, and help boost self-reliance and belief in oneself.
My focus
I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, low self-esteem, marital issues, life transitions, trauma, grief, relationships, and self-esteem issues.
My communication style
I am down to earth, easy to talk to, reassuring, warm, and supportive.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist to be able to empower others, give hope to people who feel hopeless, and help clients grow emotionally.
My goals for you
I explore the client's strengths and areas that are more challenging, identify short-term and long-term goals that are measurable, create an action plan and a timeline, and how to take action.
My first session with you
The first session is about getting to know the client and what issues are bringing them to therapy. It is the first step in building a trusting therapeutic relationship.
