Hi there! I'm Gabrielle Kubulan-Simmons, but you can call me Gabby. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I work with adult clients statewide via telehealth. My specializations are in anxiety, depression, and stress through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Feminist Therapy, and Solution-Focused Based Therapy. I believe that therapy can not only help with achieving one's goals but also can be used as a tool to gain a better understanding of one's self.
My approach
My approach to treatment can vary depending on the client's needs. I make sure to curate a space that is personalized to each client. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Feminist Therapy, and Solution-Focused Based Therapy as it helps to support myself and the client with a better understanding of their experiences and reality. Therefore, we are able to create a structured path on how to curate our treatment process.
My focus
The type of clients that I typically work with are adults. The modalities that I focus on fit this population because of various situations that could cause stress, anxiety, and depression. I work alongside my clients through these situations to support them with having a more positive outlook on life and gaining hopefulness towards their future.
My communication style
My communication style is personable, peaceful, and reflective. I create a calm and non-judgemental space within our session and make sure my client's comfort level is being made the priority.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist as I have always gravitated toward supporting others with growing personally and professionally. I've been in this role through various stages of my life from engaging in previously held internships to merely showing up as a loyal friend. I want my clients to connect to the best versions of themselves and curate an authentic lifestyle that fits their needs.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients includes making clear and obtainable goals that are curated to my client's needs. In order to achieve these goals, trust, and rapport building are key within the therapeutic relationship. Through our time together, I continue to track my client's progress and meet the client where they are at.
My first session with you
With our first session, I attempt to gather information from my client by asking questions in order to better understand their needs and identify the best approach to support them through treatment. The first session is necessary for rapport building and gaining a connection.
