Hi there, I'm Michael!

My name is Michael Jones and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) working with clients throughout the state of California. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in helping individuals with anxiety disorders, including OCD, Panic Disorder, and depression using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I draw from Cognitive-Behavioral, existential, and psychodynamic therapies, ensuring a personalized and effective path toward growth and healing.

My focus

I am dedicated to helping individuals of all backgrounds who are determined to break free from the constraints of their symptoms, and I have a strong commitment to serving LGBTQ clients, providing a safe and inclusive space for their unique needs and experiences.

My communication style

My communication style is warm, friendly, and empathic, designed to foster a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients. Working with me often feels like engaging in a supportive and compassionate partnership, where clients can freely explore their thoughts and emotions.

My journey to mental healthcare

My path to becoming a therapist was marked by a lifelong fascination with the complexities of the human condition and the profound questions explored in philosophy, psychology, theology, science, and the humanities. My journey took an intentional turn during my undergraduate years, where I had the opportunity to work alongside a psychological researcher, deepening my intrigue with the field of psychology. However, it wasn't until my 30s that I made a deliberate choice to leave a successful business career and transition into the field of therapy. This decision was fueled by a deep desire to engage in more meaningful and purpose-driven work. I pursued graduate education to become a therapist, drawing on my passionate interest in helping individuals liberate themselves from psychological suffering. What drives me in this work is the unwavering belief that every person possesses the potential for positive change and growth, and I am dedicated to supporting them on their journey toward a more fulfilling and liberated life.

My goals for you

In my practice, goal setting is a joint endeavor. This collaborative approach ensures that our therapeutic journey is uniquely tailored to each client's aspirations, forging a clear and personalized path toward progress and healing.

My first session with you

During our first session together, we'll talk about the issues bringing you into therapy, your history, and current life circumstances. I'll propose an initial treatment approach that we'll use for our work together.
