Hi, my name is Stacy Peterson, and I am a clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience supporting people as they grow, heal, and navigate life's most important challenges, including relationship dynamics, emerging adulthood, and responses to traumatic events.
My approach
I believe in working collaboratively with clients to identify their goals. I see every session as an opportunity for progress. My empathetic approach aims to hold space for your experience by incorporating aspects of CBT, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.
My focus
While I have experience working with people across the lifespan, I find that my approach works best with teens and adults. I have expertise working with emerging adults adjusting to transitions, including the transition to college, identity development, and new relationships. These transitions can often involve anxiety, depression, and trauma. I also have specialized experience working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
My communication style
My communication style is empathic, inclusive, and non-judgemental. I respect each client's individual identities and work to understand how those identities create a unique experience.
