Hello and welcome, I am Sherry Ellis, LCSW. I’m a therapist committed to helping others learn how to take steps toward the life they want to live and the changes that makes sense to them. My work focuses on targeting ineffective behaviors, learning new skills, and changing self defeating thoughts to align with your goals. I believe in taking a collaborative approach, providing positive regard, and supporting clients in reaching their goals.
My approach
I take a compassionate and understanding approach rooted in mindfulness to tailor techniques to your specific needs that integrate: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Client Centered Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Trauma Informed, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

I am experienced in working with clients experiencing challenges with: anxiety, behavioral issues, building healthy coping skills, depression, managing job related stress, dealing with life transitions, relationship issues, low self esteem, stress, thought disorders, and women's issues

I am an open-minded relatable psychotherapist and I welcome you to a space where your healing and life fulfilling journey can begin. You are the expert of your life. I am not here to tell you what to do or how to live but to empower you to do the work and provide unconditional positive regard throughout your journey.
My journey to mental healthcare
Growing up my grandmother was the person that everyone in the neighborhood could come to for help. She showed me the power behind being supportive and nonjudgmental. As a child, I have seen people at their worst transform into their best self because of unconditional support and a willingness to meet people where they are.

My first session with you
During our first session you can expect empathy, understanding and unconditional support. My goal is to help increase your insight and challenge those thoughts that hold you back from being the best version of yourself. We will spend time getting to know each other and I put maximum effort in understanding your needs.
