My focus
I work with adolescents 14 and up, couples, family, and adults. I feel most comfortable with working with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, abuse, and crisis situations, parent child conflict, and legal issues.
My communication style
My tone is calm, and I believe in creating a safe place for clients to discuss their issues. Previous and current clients always say that I'm a good listener, patient, and I meet people where they are and I go at the pace of the client.
My journey to mental healthcare
I worked in the field as a caseworker, caseworker supervisor, and family advocacy, and through my work in child welfare; I was always concerned why the individuals had struggles with their life journeys which led them to unhealthy decision making skills. I always wanted to help people explore their path in life by addressing their past issues that is enabling them from moving forward.
My goals for you
First, I ask the clients what would they want to work on in therapy, and involve them in the goal setting process.
My first session with you
The first session is going over disclosures, confidentiality, cancellation and missed appts, information on how tele-health visits work, and find out what the client is looking to address in therapy.
