Hello, I am Amber Regal, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Tampa, Florida, offering telehealth services statewide. I specialize in working with adults dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and stress. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, empowering them to make positive life changes.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe in creating a collaborative and supportive environment where you feel connected and supported throughout your healing and personal growth journey. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, we can work together to identify and address the challenges you face.
My focus
I specialize in working with adults of all ages and backgrounds. My expertise lies in addressing various mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress, and life transitions. However, I am particularly passionate about helping adults who either have been diagnosed with or suspect they may have ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). I offer comprehensive education on ADHD symptoms and challenges while creating a safe and supportive environment for you to enhance your well-being and find greater happiness. ADHD Symptoms: Inattention: Difficulty focusing, easily distracted, frequently making careless mistakes. Hyperactivity: Restlessness, fidgeting, excessive talking, difficulty staying seated. Impulsivity: Acting without thinking, interrupting others, difficulty waiting for turns. Disorganization: Poor time management, trouble organizing tasks or belongings. Forgetfulness: Frequently losing or misplacing items, forgetting appointments or obligations. Lack of motivation: Difficulty starting or completing tasks, chronic procrastination. Poor attention to detail: Overlooking important details, overlooking instructions. Impaired working memory: Difficulty remembering and following through on instructions. Difficulty with executive functioning: Struggling with planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks. Relationship challenges: Impulsivity and inattention affect personal and professional relationships. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and a proper diagnosis should be sought from a qualified healthcare professional.
My communication style
I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment in my sessions. Clients often find me easy to talk to and appreciate my informative and supportive approach. Working together, we establish a comfortable and personable atmosphere that encourages open and honest conversation.
My journey to mental healthcare
My passion for helping those in need and my fascination with the human condition led me to pursue a career in the mental health and substance abuse field. Starting as a mental health technician at an inpatient facility, I realized my desire to offer more support and guidance. This motivated me to earn a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, my personal experience of being diagnosed with ADHD in 2019 has fueled my passion to assist others living with ADHD by providing education, guidance, and support.
My goals for you
Goal setting is a collaborative process where I empower clients to define their own goals. Building trust and establishing a therapeutic relationship are crucial steps in this process. By understanding your needs and aspirations, we can work together to develop meaningful goals that align with your desires and support your overall well-being.
My first session with you
During our initial session, a significant portion of our time will be dedicated to getting to know you better. I will inquire about the symptoms and challenges you are facing and discuss what you would like to work on, allowing us to establish goals for our therapeutic journey. I understand that starting therapy can be intimidating, but I create a safe and comfortable space where you can be yourself and feel at ease.
