Hi there, I'm Leslie!

Hello, I am Leslie Wondra, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I understand no two individuals are the same, and I tailor our sessions to address challenges unique to you. Together, we will work to understand the root cause of your struggles. I strive to help you build tools and strategies for the patterns of behavior and thoughts that have impacted your life.

My approach

I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach to changing thinking patterns and behaviors. I won't just sit and listen. I will assist in the development of new strategies to reduce unhealthy patterns. Together, we will explore how your feelings of anxiousness manifest in your mind and body and develop new ways to react to stressors and life challenges. We will learn and practice new tools to help you feel grounded, confident, and back in control of your life.

My focus

I specialize in working with people who feel anxious, overwhelmed, and out of control by the changing world around them. I can help my clients understand their behaviors, learn new strategies that help them feel more confident when stressors manifest & find a better balance in their life. My clients are insightful and motivated. They include working adults, college students, and those experiencing challenges in relationships, anxiety, depression, adjustments, and life stressors.

My communication style

I am honest, calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I bring humor & light-heartedness when appropriate. My compassionate and down-to-earth nature allows clients to feel comfortable discussing their deepest concerns, enabling them to work towards personal growth and resolution. My ultimate goal is to support individuals in finding their inner strength, enhancing their self-awareness, and helping them navigate life's challenges with resilience and confidence. My clients put in the work out of session.

My journey to mental healthcare

My ability to be compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental has strengthened my awareness and my belief that going into this field of service was my calling. I have worked in various settings, including hospitals, public schools, and community mental health agencies. I believe that a good fit between provider and client is necessary to cultivate a strong therapeutic relationship. I became a therapist because representation matters, and I have experienced elements of invisibility, not being heard and judged, and how that significantly impacts mental health. My goal is to be part of the solution.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting with clients is that it is a collaborative process between the therapist and the client. During the initial session, I am getting a more comprehensive understanding of your unique background, needs, and current circumstances. This information helps with the development of a treatment plan that is aligned with your goals and values. I provide guidance and support to help clients navigate any obstacles that may arise. As clients progress and circumstances change, goals may need to be adjusted to ensure they remain relevant and aligned with the client's evolving needs.

My first session with you

During the first session, my main goal is to establish a foundation of trust and rapport with you. I understand that opening up to a stranger can be challenging. We will engage in an initial conversation where I will ask you questions about your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This process allows me to gain a comprehensive understanding of your unique needs and experiences. It is important for you to feel heard and understood. After gathering information, we will collaboratively work on identifying the areas you would like to focus on during therapy and develop a treatment plan.
