Hi there, I'm Kiana!

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina, I have extensive experience working as a therapist in various settings, including hospitals, a prison, outpatient clinics, and the school system. I am also a certified Project Best Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, which requires specialized training to support children and adolescents who have experienced various types of abuse and trauma.

My approach

My approach to therapy is to help individuals generate creative and realistic solutions to life's challenges while providing support and empowerment. I will work with you to utilize your strengths, make healthy decisions, and develop positive habits to remain resilient and adaptable. Understanding the power of our own choices can be liberating and empowering, providing a focus for change. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and together we will strive to discover the keys to healing that lie within you.

My focus

I work with individuals, including minors aged 13-17. My specialties include anxiety, child abuse or neglect, coping skills, depression, family conflict, life coaching, trauma and PTSD, racial identity, relationship issues, stress, spirituality, school issues, self-esteem, and sexual abuse.

My communication style

My communication style is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself and explore your thoughts and feelings. I will actively listen to your concerns, offer insights and guidance, and work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs and goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep desire to help others navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth. Through my education and diverse clinical experiences, I have developed a passion for supporting individuals from all walks of life. I have worked in various settings, including the Child Advocacy Center of Aiken, Augusta State Medical Prison, WellStar Health Systems, and Emory Health Care System, which has equipped me with a broad range of skills and expertise to effectively support my clients.

My goals for you

My goal for you is to help you achieve lasting positive change and personal growth. I aim to empower you with the tools, insights, and self-awareness needed to overcome challenges, build resilience, and lead a more fulfilling life. Through our work together, I hope to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your relationships, and cultivate a greater sense of purpose and well-being.

My first session with you

In our first session, we will focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and open communication. I will take the time to listen to your story, understand your concerns, and discuss your goals for therapy. We will work together to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. This initial session will also provide an opportunity for you to ask questions, learn more about my approach, and determine if we are a good fit to work together on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
