Thank you for taking the time to get to know me! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia with 6 years of experience working with individuals, children, and families in an outpatient setting in combination with providing tele mental health services. While I consider myself a life-long learner, my degrees include a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I believe in creating a new therapy for each client built on a trusting relationship and utilizing an integrative approach to the process of therapy. I feel my clients are the experts of their lives, and my role is to provide a safe place to help guide them through the struggles life can bring.
My approach
I utilize an integrative therapeutic approach to therapy involving several modalities such as CBT and Person-Centered Therapy. I practice a biopsychosocial approach to treatment which means we explore aspects of the mind, body, relationships, and spirituality. It is vital for me to meet my client where they are with acceptance, attentiveness, and a willingness to tailor the therapeutic journey to my client's individual needs.
My focus
My experience and education have allotted me the ability to work with a variety of mental health issues and diverse populations. I am comfortable with working with all ages via individual and/or family therapy. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Substance Use Disorders, women/LGBTQ+ issues, and trauma.
My communication style
I aim to create a therapeutic environment for my clients in which they will feel seen and heard. The number one aspect that makes therapy successful is the relationship between the client and therapist. My goal is to build that relationship with my client via honest, respectful, accepting, and authentic interactions in every session. I hope to construct a safe space where each client allows me the opportunity to meet them where they are and assist them to where they would like to go.
My journey to mental healthcare
My drive to become a therapist was born out of my own journey as a client. Having witnessed firsthand the power of therapy combined with being told by many that I was easy to talk to led me to become a counselor.
My goals for you
Goal setting with clients is a collaborative process. I discuss goals with clients in our initial session and during subsequent sessions we check-in on previous goals and make any necessary revisions.
My first session with you
The first session is to give me the opportunity to inform the client of my approach, the process of therapy, and limits to confidentiality. Moreover, I will complete an initial assessment to gather information on the reason for coming to therapy and past history. Finally, the client and I will collaborate to identify the goals and objectives for treatment.
