I am Bethany Andrews, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in both Hawaii and Washington. My background is in Wilderness Therapy with 15 years of private practice mixed in. My style tends to be direct and encouraging.
My approach
My primary modality is Relational Therapy. That said, I have several other theoretical approaches that I use depending on what is needed, such as Gestalt, Parts Work, Trauma Relief, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, Brainspotting, Art, and more.
My focus
I typically work with people struggling to thrive. I see people with a range of issues and believe one of the most important pieces for healing is that we are a good match.
My communication style
I create an atmosphere free of judgment. I've seen a lot and strongly feel that we all need to feel accepted in who we are and what we struggle with. We may just have some laughs along the way as well!
My journey to mental healthcare
My own personal growth work initially attracted me to Psychology. I was torn between Environmental Studies and Psychology and ended up finding Wilderness Therapy, the perfect combination for me. I continue to feel passionate about my own personal growth work as well as walking alongside others on their journeys towards well-being.

My first session with you
The first session will be about getting to know you and what to expect in future sessions. We may need to complete intake paperwork, we will set goals, and most likely we will talk about some tools that you can use at home between sessions.
