My name is Aaron Meriwether, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I view the counseling process as an alliance between client and therapist and consider the clients as the experts of their lives. Within the structure of the therapeutic relationship, clients can access their inner strengths and promote change.
My approach
I apply evidence-based practices to enhance and foster positive change for clients. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy, Psycho-Educational Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Reality Therapy.
My focus
My theoretical approach is based on the belief that clients are in charge of their counseling experience. They will learn and process aspects of their life to promote growth.
My communication style
Clients will understand that the therapeutic relationship is a partnership in which they will be expected to put in the effort for homework, be accountable, and present within counseling alliance
My journey to mental healthcare
In 2010, I began my journey working in the counseling field by helping trauma survivors. I soon discovered my passion is helping individuals, families, and couples rebuild their lives and relationships by overcoming struggles in life. Therapy is a dynamic and fulfilling journey. My goal is to be a positive influence in the lives of others. I use a compassionate, direct, and non-judgmental approach to help create a supportive environment.
My goals for you
This counseling alliance and goal-setting will be collaborative. I will work with clients to develop and tailor treatment goals and objectives based on individual needs.
My first session with you
My goal as a counselor is to provide a safe environment where we can explore primary interests, develop goals, and determine strengths and assets as we move toward your aspirations. During the first initial session standard assessments and relevant background information will be reviewed to determine the treatment structure
