My approach
Depending on your needs, I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
My focus
I counsel older children (10+) through adulthood. Jeana has experience with depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment disorders, life transitions, ADHD, personality disorders, suicidal ideation, and self-harm.
My communication style
I take a person-centered approach and infuse each session with empathy and gentle redirection. My goal is to offer you alternative options for the situations you face. I incorporate present-moment work into each session and offer practical solutions and education on different mental health concerns.
My journey to mental healthcare
As a child, my focus was always on my thoughts and other's feelings. I was acutely aware of how someone was feeling, just based on being near them. I was able to attend graduate school to become a counselor and use these gifts to build meaningful relationships with others and work to reduce their suffering.
My goals for you
You control the session and I work to make sure there is progress made towards your goals.
My first session with you
The first session lasts 50 minutes and is a chance for you to share background information that you find relevant, as well as your goals for counseling.
