Hi there, I'm Elysia!

I am Elysia Russell, LCSW I use several types of therapy approaches to help with your day to day living that give specific tools and strategies.

My approach

I use an integrative, non-judgmental approach to my therapy that can include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a well researched modality used to process trauma. I also utilize eclectic therapy, narrative therapy and always a trauma focused approach that will help with specific training and strategies to give you the tools you need for daily living.

My focus

I work with teens, adults and couples who suffer from Addiction, Alcohol Use, Anger Management, Anxiety, Behavioral Issues, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality, Chronic Impulsivity, Codependency, Coping Skills, Depression, Divorce, Domestic Violence, Drug Abuse, and many more.

My communication style

I use a non-judgmental approach of listening, and help find ways to create balance and well being. I am direct and focused to help get you to the point of comfort as quickly and effectively as we can.

My journey to mental healthcare

Becoming a therapist combines both my personal and professional experiences. Through those, I grew in genuine love for all people regardless of their cultural or ethnic background. They shaped my personality and professional identity as well as practice. I find being a therapist specializing in trauma as an enriching career. I enjoy every aspect of it, the honor of being entrusted with deepest secrets or overwhelming experiences, the incredible human connection/intimacy, the possibility to be authentic and present and to actively listen, empathize and validate their wholeness is invaluable. To experience with and to ''hold'' another human being through the process of struggle, changes, healing, and transformation is the greatest reward one can experience. To witness a person’s face light up in hope for the future and witness their wounds becoming their strengths and meaning for the future are the greatest rewards for me as a therapist.

My goals for you

I will help you create and maintain your goals so you can begin to live the life you are seeking with progress being met at your pace.

My first session with you

We will have an introduction period where we get to know each other. I want to make sure we are a good fit and that I can give you what you are seeking in therapy. We will set up a plan, make goals, and understand where you want to be in the timeframe you want to do it in.
