Hello, my name is Rose Balderas. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am located in beautiful New Mexico and provide therapy services via telehealth throughout the state. My professional practice includes working with children, adolescents and adults. I meet the patients where they are at, ensuring they feel heard and acknowledged.
My approach
I integrate various treatment modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focus, EMDR, and Solution Focused treatment. The combination of these approaches helps patients understand their symptoms and their needs. Knowledge increases patients' self-compassion, understanding and overall motivation.
My focus
My therapy approach works well with individuals with various diagnoses. I have been trained to work with the patients' symptoms and not focus on the diagnosis. This approach makes it possible to work with patients of various ages and needs.
My communication style
My professional goal is to create an accepting and understanding space where my patients feel secure and comfortable. I approach my patients with an open, relatable and transparent communication style.
My journey to mental healthcare
My psychology journey began during my work with the local non-profit agency who worked with sexual assault and domestic violence survivors. I was impacted by their strength and courage. I was driven to take part in their healing journey and have continued to build on that motivation by pursuing my degree in therapy. I enjoy meeting with my patients and helping them meet all wellness goals.
My goals for you
Treatment goals help guide and motivate patients. I work with the patient collaboratively to assess their needs. As we continue our work, we can complete or modify their goals. Goals demonstrate progress which motivates the patients in their on-going treatment.
My first session with you
Our first session will consist of my introduction, answering any questions you have regarding my practice and experience. You will have the opportunity to tell your story and express your needs. This engagement is the first step towards building rapport and the beginning of a successful treatment process.
