Hi there, I'm Afifa!

Hi, my name is Afifa, and I am an LCSW in NY and a LICSW in MA. I specialize in helping individuals through life's challenges. I have a passion for helping people feel empowered to make changes in their lives, and I am dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment tailored to each individual. My client-centered approach focuses on the present with an eye toward the future. If you are looking for someone to help guide you through your journey, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you on your path toward true healing. Thank you.

My approach

My approach to therapy is integrative and concentrates on assisting individuals to explore and challenge habits/thoughts/patterns which impact emotions, behaviors, relationships, sleep, work, energy, motivation, and goals. Work through the environmental, psychological, behavioral, interpersonal, and situational contributors to wellness. Assist with Identifying negative or distorted thinking patterns that often lead to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. Provide psycho-education on specific life problems that may increase depression and help patients understand how to solve or improve on those problems.

My focus

I understand that everyone's experience is unique and that life can sometimes be unpredictable. That's why I put a lot of effort into creating individualized treatment plans that are tailored to the needs of each of my clients. I strive to provide a safe and understanding environment while helping people find the courage to access their own capacity for healing. I have experience working with individuals, struggling with depression, trauma, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship conflicts, and more. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and other evidence-based approaches to help people get back on track. I understand that the healing journey can be challenging and filled with doubts and fears. I am dedicated to providing compassionate guidance and support tailored to each person's unique needs. I also provide psychoeducation services. If you need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm here for you whenever you're ready to take the next step toward feeling better and living a healthier, more fulfilling life. Thank you for being so considerate. I look forward to hearing from you! .
