Hi! My name is Elizabeth and my pronouns are she/her. I truly embrace individuality and all are welcome here. I am an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community and strive to be sensitive and compassionate to all cultures, diversities, religious or non-religious beliefs and spiritual paths. The center of this is respect.
My approach
My approach in therapy is most definitely client-centered and trauma-informed. In session we will utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy/Brief Therapy for skill building and interventions to reach your therapeutic goals.
My focus
I have been privileged to serve individuals and families including children, adolescents and adults in the mental health and social service field for the past 28 years of my career providing services for those with a wide spectrum of mental health diagnoses including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, substance use diagnoses, eating disorders, trauma-related and co-occurring medical related disorders.
My communication style
I strive to facilitate a relaxed, open environment with compassion and curiosity about who you are, what works for you, what does not work for you, and truly encourage feedback on how you feel I am doing as this facilitator/therapist!
My journey to mental healthcare
I have a passion for people. The majority of my career has been in the service and helping fields. I love getting to know different people, hearing about their own journey's and being a vessel to help you heal, empower you, and reach your goals. I have a love for the mental health field and plan to continue as a therapist for the remainder of my vocational path.
My goals for you
This is about YOU and your journey and what you want to get out of therapy. We will work together to develop your treatment plan, looking at your larger goals and then breaking those larger goals down into smaller more achievable steps. Life changes and our vision for ourselves can also change. Your plan is a work in progress just like we all are!
My first session with you
Your first session is getting to know you and what you want to achieve. We will work together to identify areas that may be of challenge for you right now in your life and identifying common themes that may indicate to you the desire for change in these areas. Your safety is of the utmost importance to me. So if I ask you about suicidal thoughts, if you have ever had a plan, don’t worry, many of us have. If you are currently having thoughts of suicide or plans of suicide please call 911 or reach out now to the suicide hotline at 988. You are not alone!
