Not currently accepting patients

Hi there, I'm Samantha!

My name is Samantha O'Donnell. I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with 7 years of experience treating teens (12+) and adults. Unlike traditional approaches, I focus on the root cause of your struggles. I find and treat the "why" behind your symptoms to help you achieve lasting mental well-being and lead a happier, healthier life.

My approach

Mental health is unique to each person and I believe treatments should be tailored to each person as well! Together, we will work to understand your symptoms by exploring biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors. From there, we'll create a personalized treatment plan - medication is an option, but we'll also consider lifestyle changes to empower a healthy, happy life.

My focus

I have experience treating patients 12+ and older into late adulthood but I typically find myself treating girls and women. From navigating teen years to adult challenges, I help women overcome common struggles like anxiety, stress, low mood, hormonal changes, sleep disturbances, burnout, and fatigue.

My communication style

I believe open communication is key. I offer a direct and honest approach while remaining sincerely compassionate and welcoming. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable discussing anything that's on your mind, no matter how big or small.

My journey to mental healthcare

My desire to help people drew me to nursing, but witnessing the underserved world of mental health ignited a deeper passion. The prevalence of mental health struggles, often hidden in silence due to stigma, compelled me to become a mental health nurse practitioner. I believe everyone deserves quality mental healthcare, just like addressing any physical illness.

My goals for you

I believe in working together to set goals that are meaningful and achievable for you. I encourage a collaborative approach, where we discuss your goals and identify specific steps to reach them. I also feel that focusing on your personal strengths is important and using your strengths to achieve your goals so you feel empowered and create lasting change.

My first session with you

Our first session will be all about you. We'll discuss your current challenges and any past symptoms or treatments you've tried. I'll also ask about your family history, social life, and overall physical health to gain a complete picture. Once we have this information, we'll work together to set clear goals for your treatment and explore what a personalized plan might look like. Of course, you'll have plenty of time to ask questions and share any concerns you may have. I'm here to listen and guide you on your path to feeling better.
