Hi, I'm Emily Swift, as your counselor I will work with you in a collaborative process- together we will work towards the life you strive for while providing tools, motivation, support, empathy, and insight along the way. Navigating your way towards a happier, healthier, and more fulfilled life is not easy and we are not meant to do it alone.
My approach
With a Master’s Degree in Holistic Counseling and over twelve years of experience as a yoga instructor, my approach to counseling combines clinical therapeutic methods with practices to integrate body and mind to help regulate emotions, manage stress, and promote whole being wellness. Some examples of holistic practices that we can incorporate into sessions are relaxation exercises, guided imagery and visulaization, meditation and breathing exercises, and exploration of spirituality and life purpose.
My focus
I have experience working with young adults, adults, and couples in the areas of life transitions, finding purpose, self discovery, anxiety, depression, self esteem and self acceptance, postpartum, relationship struggles, emotional regulation, personal growth and development, family issues, loss of connection to self, authentic living, managing feelings of stress and overwhelm.
My communication style
Through the counseling experience, my intention is to provide a compassionate and non judgmental place for self exploration where you will feel heard, valued, and supported. My desire is to help my clients develop a deeper connection with themselves and create safe space to connect with their own abilities for healing and transformation.
