I am a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has more than 25 years of varied experience in healthcare. I provide person-centered care with the client`s best interests at the forefront of any treatment decisions. My focus is to provide empathetic and accessible care to the patients with mental health problems.
My approach
I am aware of the toll of mental health problems on the client's functioning in relationships, work, and study settings. Supporting the clients in difficult situations and treating their behavioral health issues safely to make the clients achieve their potential can be expected from me as I see the clients on every visit.
My focus
I am adept in treating clients with anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression, bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, and other mental health problems. I am experienced in medication management of adolescents and adults with mental health problems.
My communication style
Being an accessible, honest, and non-judgmental clinician is very important to this affable nurse practitioner. Open communication and educating clients about medication effects, side effects, and time of action are to be expected at the visit. I encourage questions and suggestions by the clients about their mental health care.
My journey to mental healthcare
Personal experiences and the possibility of meaningful work where I can help bring positive changes in my clients` lives are the primary reasons for me choosing to be a mental health care worker. I feel that I have unique skills like patience, knowledge, communication skills, and stress tolerance to be a good clinician in mental healthcare.
My goals for you
Reasonable treatment goals and objectives are formed with client participation at the initial and follow-up visits. The goals will be visited and modified at regular intervals to assess the effectiveness of therapy and medications.
My first session with you
Getting to know each other is an important part of the client-clinician relationship. Patient confidentiality will be maintained and communications will be open and respectful. Please expect questions about client expectations, history of mental and physical health, current symptoms and their duration, social history, family history, and past medications.
