Jestina Franks

Hi, my name is Jestina Franks and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-S) and an AASECT-certified sex therapist. I provide virtual counseling services to patients in Texas. I have extensive experience in assisting individuals with issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, sexuality, and intimacy issues.

My approach

I approach therapy from a client-centered perspective. In our sessions together, I hope to impart positive coping skills that you will be able to utilize both inside and outside of our sessions. My strong belief is that my clients should feel empowered to make the most of their new skills.

My focus

My style and approach are a good fit for young adults and adults seeking assistance dealing with life challenges and social pressures. Typically my focus is on anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+, intimacy, alternative relationships, and sexual health concerns.

My communication style

My communication is firm and direct. My goal is not to give advice but to help you look at multiple sides of a situation and do what is best for your life.

My journey to mental healthcare

My career encompasses many different areas from community health services, juvenile justice, school districts, and private practice. I enjoy helping others and seeing people become the best versions of themselves.

My goals for you

The client is in charge of their goals for therapy. I will walk alongside you to assist on the way. Of course, goals will change and that's OK. We will work together towards the new ones.

My first session with you

The first session is about building a relationship and addressing your concerns about why you are starting therapy. It's a time for me to learn about you and for you to learn my therapy style. The first session is no pressure. I want you to feel comfortable on this journey.
