I'm so glad you're here! I believe that we all have the potential to be our best selves, and it is my honor and privilege to help you get there. I am a licensed professional counselor with 16 years of experience in the mental health field. I am also a licensed Substance Abuse practitioner and certified sex offender treatment provider. I have extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. My therapy practice is based on cognitive-behavioral principles from a client-centered perspective. As a therapist, I aim to help you rediscover your life's balance. I want to help show you that no matter the challenges you face in your life. You do not have to carry the weight of your journey alone.
My approach
I use collaborative, strength-based, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness-based, DBT, trauma-informed and solution-focused approaches in therapy while maintaining creativity, flexibility, and awareness necessary to best meet the needs of every unique individual, family, and couple. There is no cookie-cutter approach to therapy, so I adjust based on my clients' individual needs. Together we will work to help you gain control of your life AGAIN!
My focus
I work with teens, young adults, and adults. I specialize in trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, women's issues, relationship challenges, life transitions, and grief and loss.
My communication style
My main goal in communication is transparency. I want to provide a non-judgmental environment where clients can feel free to talk about anything with me. Honesty is so powerful and transformative. It is important that transparency is the foundation of communication. My style is direct, supportive, and encouraging. I also have a great sense of humor and a naturally calming presence which also aids in creating a safe space for clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always had a desire to help others and create less suffering in those around me. It is my goal to help you rediscover your life's balance.
My goals for you
I am very committed to building rapport, open communication, and, most importantly, with you to establish the goals that YOU want to work on in therapy, and it is my goal to aid you in achieving your goals.
My first session with you
Introductions, an overview of the therapeutic process, the ins and outs of therapy, and an assessment (getting to know my client's needs and goals for therapy). The first session is typically very informal and helps us get to know each other better and begin building trust and rapport.
