My name is Courtney LaLond. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been practicing for about 5 years now. I have 4 years of experience working with children ages 5-18, along with adults with persistent mental health disorders.
My approach
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused methods to help my clients through their wide range of issues
My focus
I work with people from young children to seniors. I am experienced in working with people with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, addiction, and other persistent mental health disorders.
My communication style
I have a laid-back personality. I believe that building a connection with your therapist makes for a better working relationship. I am not afraid to ask questions that will help you to work through the issues that you are trying to solve
My journey to mental healthcare
Growing up I was always the one my friends talked to about their issues. When I went to college I went to be a music teacher but fell in love with psychology and sociology and quickly changed my major. I enjoy helping people through the tough times in their lives and seeing the changes that they make.
My goals for you
I believe that goals are important and help to keep us accountable. Setting a weekly goal is an important part of this.
My first session with you
First session is all about rapport building, getting to know each other, and what your goals are for therapy.
