My name is Lou Hang, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have worked with individuals of a variety of ages helping them to improve their quality of life. I’ve also worked with couples and families helping them to build healthy relationships with one another. My hope is to come alongside my clients and work collaboratively to help them achieve their goals.
My approach
I take an integrative approach to therapy. I understand that everyone is different which is why I tailor therapy to the needs of each individual.
My focus
I work with teens and young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues. Life can be difficult in these early transitional years, and I’d love to support and help them navigate through life's struggles. I also work with couples to help them navigate through relational issues to have a lasting and healthier relationship.
My communication style
I do my best to provide a warm, non-judgmental environment for my clients. I want my clients to feel safe and comfortable talking about anything with me. I also go at my client’s pace. If they are not comfortable talking about a certain issue, we will not go there until they feel ready.
My journey to mental healthcare
In my teenage years, I went through a season of darkness where I felt very alone. This season of life instilled a passion in me to work with young people. As I went on to experience more of life, my passion for helping others grew, and I decided to become a therapist to help bring hope to others.
My goals for you
I work collaboratively with my clients to set goals for therapy.
My first session with you
During the first session, the majority of the time will be spent getting to know my clients and gathering more information to better understand what brings them to therapy. I want to rapport with my clients and gauge where the direction of therapy should go.
