Hello! My name is Jessica Jaycox and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Wyoming. I truly believe that you are the expert in your life and that my role is to walk along side you in your healing journey. I have experience working with a variety of areas including addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and body image and self-esteem.
My approach
I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, however they all stem from being person-centered, strength based and solution focused. I believe that it is important to meet each individual where they are in their own healing processes.
My focus
I work with a wide variety of clients including children through adults. I enjoy working with littles as well as with teenagers. I have worked with a wide variety of conditions including trauma treatment, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, life changes, self-esteem and body image.
My communication style
You are the expert in your journey! I strive to create an environment free of judgement and shame. I believe in mutual respect and trust and strive to build health client/therapist relationships in a supporting, encouraging and open minded environment.
My journey to mental healthcare
As a teenager, I myself went through a challenging time and I know the personal impact having a supportive therapist meant to me. I truly believe that every person has the ability to change and the want to be the best version of themselves and that sometimes all that's holding us back is a lack of skills, someone to process situations with and someone to validate our feelings and emotions while challenging us to problem-solve and come to our own conclusions. Making the first step to begin therapy is often the hardest part, but its the courage of each individual I see and their willingness to put themselves and their healing first that drives me in the work that I do!
My goals for you
I believe that each client is the expert of their own lives and their healing journey, so my approach to goal setting stems from meeting each client where they are in their own journey and allowing them to set goals that they feel are of value in their lives.
My first session with you
What you can expect from the first session with me is just getting to know each other and begin building the relationship. I will begin with introducing myself and my style and then I will ask you a few questions on what brings you to therapy today. You can go as deep or as shallow as you feel comfortable with on that first session. You can also feel free to ask any questions about the therapeutic processes or anything else you would like to know more about.
