I work with families and individual family members in the form of family therapy sessions, marriage or couples counseling, domestic violence issues, depressive disorders, anxiety, and conduct disorders.
My approach
I utilize psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral techniques including hypnosis, visualization imagery, relaxation, and systematic desensitization. I also administer psychological tests and write psychological assessment reports.
My focus
My approach to therapy is from a developmental perspective and I do well with challenging cases.
My communication style
I do a lot of active listening, asking questions and I comment as necessary to be helpful. I am warm and caring.
My journey to mental healthcare
My father had many emotional problems, and it was my concern for him and my interest in his symptoms that led me into the field.
My goals for you
Success occurs when a patient's symptoms have decreased, they have reached their therapeutic goals, are functioning well and are feeling better.
My first session with you
In my first session, I tend to ask questions in an effort to gather as much background information on the patient as I can.
