Hello, my name is Luiza C Pinaud, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) from the state of California. I am looking forward to working with you. My initial goal is to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can explore and work through your challenges.
My approach
I provide client-centered, strength-based, and evidence-based treatment to people from all backgrounds. I have experience in treating anxiety, depression, stress, and addiction disorders. I like to integrate different approaches into my practice, such as CBT, DBT, attachment theory, and mindfulness practices. I work with individuals and couples and provide therapy in English and Portuguese.
My focus
I am experienced in treating patients with mild to moderate symptoms struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress, or substance use disorders.
My communication style
I like to create a warm environment where clients can feel heard and validated and can also develop trust in our work together.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been interested in helping others. I have a masters in counseling psychology and have been working with patients for more than ten years. It has been a very rewarding experience. I like to get to know people and help them build the tools they need to better their lives.
My goals for you
I approach it as a collaborative process. I want to learn from the client what they want to work on and support them on their journey.
My first session with you
An initial session with me usually consists of gathering information, understanding current symptoms and issues the client is interested in exploring, and developing a treatment plan with them.
