I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience providing support to those impacted by life challenges. I create a safe and calm environment for exploring ideas, questions, and feelings while bringing compassion, sensitivity, and expertise in a wide range of areas such as grief, depression, and anxiety.
My approach
Our journey begins with me understanding your story, strengths, and expectations in a non-judgmental way. I use a variety of treatment modalities based on your needs, such as cognitive behavioral therapy interventions, mindfulness interventions, and strengths-based approaches. My goal is to help you heal, find hope, and find meaning so you can begin the next chapter of your life.
My focus
I work with children, teens, and adults with cognitive, social, and behavioral challenges. I've helped individuals develop strategies to cope with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, and work or career issues.
My communication style
I am able to provide empathetic, active listening. I will allow my clients to share their feelings without any interruptions, and I believe a calm and supportive tone will go a long way.
My journey to mental healthcare
The most rewarding part of being a therapist was always knowing that I would have a part in affecting the life of another individual. Giving hope when people feel hopeless. Inspiring others to be all that they are capable of being so that they can go out into the world and pay it forward by helping others is also rewarding and makes my heart feel warm.
My goals for you
The therapeutic goals are to assist a client in having the skills to work through their challenges. I also discuss with my clients how to keep track of their mood and behavior, and we work on decreasing episodes and we discuss setbacks in a nonjudgmental space.
My first session with you
My priority for the first session of therapy is to make the client feel comfortable in their space, and I try to warm up the human connection instead of starting the session by asking many questions about their past or painful trauma they experienced. I allow my client to share what they are comfortable sharing. I simply welcome them and engage with them by asking questions like what it was like for them to start therapy and what it is like to be there at the moment.
