Not currently accepting patients

Hi there, I'm Richard!

My name is Dr. Scott, and I have been practicing for over 20 years as a clinical health, CAM, and immigration specialist psychologist, and my highest degree earned is my Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology), accompanied by a D.C.H. (Doctor of Clinical Hypnosis) and a doctorate level medical school education (M.D.). I have also studied many other fields. I start with CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) in treatment and integrate many other empirically based treatment modalities as psychotherapy progresses.

My approach

I utilize empirically based treatments, like CBT, and I can have psychoeducational discussions related to what can work for the patient and facilitate change. I am trained/certified in many specialties including, but not limited to, The Biological Basis of Behavior, Personal Training, Nutrition, EFT, TFT, Clinical Hypnosis, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Biofeedback, Naturopathy (CAM), Aromatherapy, basic Herbology, Psychospiritual, EMDR, Advanced EMDR, Specialized EMDR, Trauma, Reflexology, CPT, Nutrition, & Reiki.

My focus

I work with patients/clients aged 18-100+, and I treat most conditions across the spectrum. I have many specialties.

My communication style

I work 95% of the time out of my physical professional clinical office, quite a distance from where I live. My environment is peaceful, therapeutic, and relaxing, and I help create the environment for comfort and ease in building trust and unconditional acceptance in order to help bring about therapeutic change.

My journey to mental healthcare

This is a fascinating field, and this is what motivated me to go into it. One of my functions is in psychotherapy and in-depth psychotherapy, which many times goes below the level of awareness or consciousness to help enact deep change, and it is an honor to serve those in need as a facilitator of this process.

My goals for you

You can expect in-depth positive change once the treatment deepens, and this change can be surprisingly rapid, deep, and clinically significant, depending on the patient. Other approaches can be slower and more insightful.

My first session with you

The initial session is the "Initial Evaluation," whereby a "Psychosocial Assessment" is done (which includes the history, diagnosis, treatment plan, prognosis, etc.). The first session is not a psychotherapy session. The second session starts with psychotherapy.
