Maribel Aheran

I am Dr. Maribel Aheran and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed in multiple states. I specialize in ADHD, Trauma, Grief, Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD.

My approach

The most common theoretical approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, Adlerian, Trauma Therapy, Play Therapy.

My focus

Typically, I help clients who are veterans or active duty, have ADHD, experienced trauma, identify as LGBTQ+, experienced grief, are neurodivergent.

I am a relaxed, accepting, empathetic, relatable, open-minded, and kind provider.

My journey to mental healthcare

I first knew I wanted to be a therapist during my 1st year of college, however, I’ve decided to complete a degree in education and become a teacher. I’ve worked in the public school system for 15 years, serving as a teacher, Special Education Coordinator, and Guidance Counselor. Eventually, I’ve decided to chase my true passion and became a Clinical Mental Health Therapist. What makes this career my passion, is having the ability to help people and impact their lives in a positive way!

My goals for you

My approach is to meet the clients where they are, mutually identify goals, assess and track periodically, help them learn about their diagnosis, and to try to identify the root of the problem.

My first session with you

During the first session, I work on learning more about the client, building rapport, and identifying possible treatment obstacles.
