Hello! My name is Jessica Bonaventura. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of FL. I have been providing therapy for over 7 years and specialize in addiction, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder, among many other mental health diagnoses. I am a client-centered therapist who strives to provide a sense of independence in terms of the therapeutic alliance, where you will feel just as involved and in charge of your therapy as I am. We work together to tackle the obstacles you may face and find some positive solutions to change your life!
My approach
I enjoy using a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, and DBT, as well as a psychoanalytic approach to help clients understand how their past has affected their present.
My focus
I typically work with clients ages 18+ who seek to better their lives in one way or another and are motivated for change. I work with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, etc.
My communication style
I think that I bring a laid-back and easygoing attitude to my sessions. I want my clients to feel comfortable but challenged. I will also provide honest and supportive feedback with a lot of loving encouragement!
My first session with you
During the first session, my clients can expect to discuss the expectations of therapy, confidentiality, contact information, and rapport building.
