Hi there, I'm Erin!

My name is Erin Smith and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I have been practicing in the counseling field since 2011. My training and experience derive from working with adults, children, teens, incarcerated individuals, and veterans regarding life adjustments, substance use, and trauma in various settings. I have specialties in treating adjustment, substance, relational, and other mental health disorders.

My approach

My approach to therapy uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

My focus

I work with Individuals, couples, adults 18 and up. I also work with clients who have anxiety, depression, career issues, stress, life transitions, substance use, and some trauma.

My communication style

I typically set an atmosphere of learning, coaching, teaching, and reflecting. I want the client to feel safe talking in their own space free of judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

Wanting to help people like me improve on the positive qualities of their personalities as well as their inner dreams attracted me to a career as a therapist. What drives me to do this work is a passion for me to see people get elevated to the next positive level in their lives.

My goals for you

I try to establish at least one treatment goal at the end of an intake and then make at least two to three specific goals by the treatment planning session.

My first session with you

Clients should expect to answer short questions about why they have come to therapy and what would they like to get out of therapy during the first session.
