My name is Robinta Calixte, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) located in Florida. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, coping skills, self-esteem, stress management, anger management, grief, interpersonal and relationship issues, and trauma-related issues.
My approach
I use an integrative approach to providing therapy. Therapy is not one size fits all; therefore, I use therapeutic techniques based on my client's needs. These techniques include cognitive-behavioral, strength-based, trauma-informed, client-centered, and solution-focused, to name a few.
My focus
I typically work with children, adolescents, and adults with various needs and/or disorders, including, mood disorders, anxiety, grief/bereavement, trauma, stress management, anger management, adjustment, self-esteem, coping skills, and interpersonal/relationship issues.
My communication style
Working with me, you can expect an unconditional, confidential, positive, and safe environment. You will receive support, encouragement, and an ally in your therapeutic journey.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was attracted to a counseling career after completing my undergraduate internship, working with children of abuse. My experience left me questioning what happens next. How do they move forward? I wanted to be part of the healing process, so I pursued a career in mental health counseling. My path led me to work with not just children, but also adults in various settings to include, including inpatient psychiatry, outpatient community health, juvenile detention, and telehealth. The drive to continue to work in this field is knowing the difference that it makes when you have someone in your corner helping to support, encourage and provide you with tools and resources to protect and nourish your mental health.
My goals for you
Together, we will identify what you want to gain from therapy and set goals that are realistic and attainable.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will get to know one another. I'll ask questions to gain an understanding of what you need and how I can best assist you. I empower and encourage you to also ask me questions, to ensure I am the best therapist for you.
