My name is Francesca Corea, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Miami, Florida, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults. I specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, and self-esteem issues, using Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to chart a path forward.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for teens and young adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.
My communication style
We all go through challenges in life. I will work with each client to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. As a therapist, I know it takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change, and I strive to provide that opportunity for you.
My journey to mental healthcare
The truth is to help others. It's truly that simple; I enjoy empowering others through difficult times and teaching them skills that will assist them in the present moment but continue to help them in the future.
My first session with you
I like to dedicate the first session to meeting you as a human and getting to know that human aside from the mental struggles you are going through. In our first session, I would like to accomplish a sense of connection and reassurance that I am here for you. I believe a true connection is a must in a therapeutic relationship.
