I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in South Florida for the past seven years. I graduated with a Master's in Psychology from Florida International University. I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children. I have worked with clients to help alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, ADHD, and interpersonal conflicts. I am fluent in both English and Spanish.
My approach
I do not believe that therapy is "One Size Fits All." So, I use a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivation Interviewing (MI), Behavioral Activation (BA), Mindfulness, and Gestalt Therapy to work with my clients. I believe it is essential to work at your pace and use your feedback to best facilitate the sessions, your opinion and voice matter.
My focus
My ideal client is motivated and open to trying new skills. I understand that clients may have reservations when starting the therapeutic process and that is okay, I work at the pace that my clients are comfortable with. All I ask is that the clients be open to trying new skills that may seem different at first because growth often happens from a place that makes us a little uncomfortable!
My communication style
My communication style is warm, attentive, and empowering. I want my clients to feel safe and respected while working with me.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am extremely grateful for my profession because it has taught me some valuable skills for greater insight, empathy, and ways to manage stress and the curve balls life throws our way! I love to learn and continue my education through seminars, certifications, and courses so that I can provide my clients with different tools and resources to support them on their personal journey.
My goals for you
I work in conjunction with my clients to develop their therapeutic goals, so all the goals vary from client to client. However, I strive for skill acquisition so that clients can see a reduction in the intensity, frequency, or duration of their symptoms.
My first session with you
The first session is used to establish rapport with the client, discuss the structure of therapy, gain a better understanding of the client’s concerns, establish goals, and answer any questions the client may have.
