My name is Miyoshia Plummer; I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor/ Life Coach/ Mentor. As a therapist/ life coach, my approach and main goal are to empower individuals that I work with to identify issues that have caused them distress and to assist in developing healthy skills and strategies to improve their quality of life.
My approach
My approach is a combination of Adlerian, CBT, DBT, person-centered, holistic, humanistic, and motivational approach that is committed to empowering the individual to be the best human being they can possibly be. I am extremely passionate about working with individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life that are ready and motivated for change!
My focus
My experience has been extensively working with individuals who struggle with low self-awareness, low confidence, anger, symptoms of anxiety and depression, relationship issues, and basic day-to-day struggles (adjustment/ confusion). I am extremely comfortable with also working with issues related to spirituality, work/ career conflicts as well as low/ moderate trauma-related issues.
My communication style
I highly feel that a calm yet direct tone that aims to challenge discrepancies yet empower the individual. The environment that is created is always one that is safe, realistic, and motivational.
My journey to mental healthcare
I feel that I was born to provide counseling/ coaching to help improve the quality of the lives of others. My journey in life is and has been to help other human beings find what brings them peace, happiness, and an overall healthy state of mind.
My goals for you
Goal setting will always be based on what "you", the individual has identified as an area of concern and/ or distress that you would like to address in the counseling sessions.
My first session with you
In your initial session, we work on rapport building and gather as much important information as possible to be able to determine a tailor-made course of treatment and goals for you as an individual. The individual will have the opportunity to share issues and concerns that brought them to treatment as well as any pre-counseling concerns.
