My approach
I have experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, meditation, positive psychology, EMDR, and yoga.
My focus
I typically work with individuals struggling with anxiety and depression. Many are unhappy with their current lives.
My communication style
I am very laid-back, easy to talk to a therapist. Working with me is like having a mentor or a coach that guides you and supports you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I began this journey back in 1994 when my therapist suggested this would be a good field for me. I got my Master's Degree and worked until 1996 when my first son was born. I proceeded to have 2 more sons and worked in the Health and Wellness Field as a personal trainer, Yoga teacher, and life coach for 25 years training and coaching hundreds of people. In 2019, I went back to complete my LMHC and became certified in March 2022. It is my passion to help guide and support others to live a better life.
My goals for you
Goal setting with clients is collaborative. I work with the client to focus on what their goals are and we make them specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. I hold my clients accountable for their tasks and homework.
My first session with you
Our first session together is a chance to get to know each other. I will do a history and we will focus on what our goals together in therapy will be.
