Greetings! My name is Maya Duffy, LCSW 19573. I have been practicing for 13 years. I consider myself to be an invited guide along to assist my clients through their journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth.
My approach
In sessions, I utilize active listening, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, and Person-Centered therapy to assist clients in breaking cognitive distortions, gaining emotional intelligence, and building healthy coping skills.
My focus
I have a passion for working with people living with depression, anxiety, trauma, and other acute stressors.
My communication style
In sessions, I believe in letting the client set the tone. I believe in meeting the client where they are in the process, teaching tools to assist them in gaining insight into their emotional needs, empowering, encouraging, and motivating them to be their best self through learning and identifying personal strengths, setting goals, and utilize skills to achieve these goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have a genuine love for people. I love the moment when my client has that moment when all the pieces come together for them. When they are able to recognize and draw upon their personal strengths, gain self-efficacy, and reach their personal, spiritual, career, or emotional goals.
My goals for you
Goal setting is the road map that clients will use through their journey of self-discovery. I empower clients to identify what they want to see happen during this process, Identify what they believe their strengths are, and how they can draw upon those strengths to achieve their identified goals.
My first session with you
During that first session, clients can expect me to introduce who I am. Answer a few questions to assist me in identifying their perceived problem and work toward identifying a plan for treatment.
