Hi there, I'm John!

I am a doctoral-level licensed mental health counselor in Florida with over 10 years of experience working as a therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, addiction issues, and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have felt lost and wanted to better understand themselves.

My approach

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines a sense of humor with cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

My focus

I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction issues, and life satisfaction issues. I specialize in working with men because there are issues men deal with that are unique and they do not always feel understood.

My communication style

I have a friendly and conversational approach. That includes active listening. I use humor and I use my personal experiences to draw people out of their shells and to build rapport.

My journey to mental healthcare

I want to help people be the best versions of themselves. I had a life-changing experience with a therapist and I want to give that to someone else.

My goals for you

Successful care and progress are when the client self-reports a reduction in symptoms.

My first session with you

I focus on building rapport by asking them questions and sharing things about myself to make them feel comfortable. The relationship and the client's belief in my ability to help them are the factors that contribute to positive outcomes
