Hi there, I'm Aritha!

Our life path is full of ups and downs with unexpected twists and turns. We learn to develop ways of coping, whether positive or negative, to help deal with stressors or adapt to change. However, we often fall back on familiar methods when faced with stress or unexpected situations, becoming confused, frustrated, emotional, withdrawing, angry, combative, or ignoring the problem and hoping it resolves on its own. Sometimes we need help developing positive coping skills to handle life's challenges. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I'm here to provide that assistance.

My approach

My approach combines several therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy. I believe in collaborating closely with you to design a personalized treatment plan that will be effectively implemented to maximize the potential for a successful outcome. Together, we'll work to help you develop the positive coping skills and resilience to navigate life's ups and downs.

My focus

I have experience working with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. In addition to treating various mental health conditions, I specialize in addressing issues related to anxiety, career challenges, conflict, depression, grief, self-esteem, anger management, behavioral problems, stress, trauma, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders.

My communication style

As your therapist, I prioritize open, honest, and compassionate communication. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Through active listening and thoughtful questions, I aim to gain a deep understanding of your unique experiences, perspectives, and goals. I believe in empowering you with the tools and insights to make positive changes and achieve personal growth.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Driven by empathy and a fascination with the human mind, I pursued a Master of Science in Social Work (MSW) from Barry University. Throughout my education and clinical training, I developed a strong foundation in various therapeutic approaches and a commitment to evidence-based practices. My experiences working with diverse populations in different settings, such as the Florida Civil Commitment Center and private practice, have further honed my skills and deepened my understanding of the unique challenges individuals face.

My goals for you

My primary goal is to help you improve your overall well-being and quality of life. I aim to empower you with the tools, insights, and skills necessary to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve your personal goals. Whether you're seeking to manage stress, heal from trauma, improve relationships, or gain a deeper understanding of yourself, I am dedicated to supporting you every step of the way. Together, we'll work to help you develop a stronger sense of self, cultivate healthier coping mechanisms, and create lasting positive change.

My first session with you

During our first session, my focus will be on getting to know you and understanding your unique story, challenges, and goals. I'll ask questions to gain insight into your background, experiences, and current situation. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process and to determine if we're a good fit. I aim to create a warm, welcoming environment where you feel comfortable sharing and exploring your thoughts and feelings. Together, we'll discuss your expectations and begin to formulate a plan tailored to your specific needs and objectives.
