Hi, I'm Julia Sandoval, LPC. My approach is to remain straightforward with my clients. No time like the present! I am strongly skilled in the analysis, client-centered, and listening/reflective skills. Much guidance will be given in terms of increasing the quality of your life and this is accomplished by practicing a positive state of consciousness.
My approach
Theoretical approaches I utilize are Psychoanalysis, Cognitive Therapy, Solution-Focused, Client-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Grief Therapy, and Positive Psychology.
My focus
I am well-versed in assisting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Also, I have helped many clients process grief and trauma.
My communication style
I am easy to talk to and like to keep the atmosphere authentic, and real in such a way that the client will feel at ease. I am not a "textbook" type of therapist. There is no superficiality.
My journey to mental healthcare
I've always wanted to help people. Even when I was a child I had visions of myself meeting with others and hearing them talk. Of course, I didn't understand what that meant exactly however it was clear to me that I was destined to be a humanitarian.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting by making small accomplishments happen first, then working up to more challenging ones as time goes on. The client is always in control in terms of the level of comfortability.
My first session with you
To get a strong idea of what the process will "look like" and what to expect. To get an idea of myself and my style. To set a tone for the therapeutic alliance and initiate a rapport. Also, identifying clients' expectations from treatment.
