Not currently accepting patients

Hi there, I'm Linda!

I find it an honor to work with my clients and to be able to build rapport and trust to serve them best in a neutral, positive nonjudgmental environment. For your convenience I am available most evening and weekend hours to accommodate your busy schedules or if you work during the day. I realize it is not an easy decision to contact a counselor, but you do not need to struggle ` alone. If you are ready to look at yourself and commit to starting the process of change, I will gladly work with you and support you. I realize everyone is different and I do not take a cookie-cutter approach. I will work directly with you at your pace and encourage you to make the changes you desire. I have over 15 years of experience working with Behavioral Health and Substance use. I have been employed as a therapist, case manager, and crisis clinician and have worked in Inpatient psychiatric hospitals.

My approach

I utilize acceptance commitment therapy, (ACT) cognitive behavioral, (CBT), person-centered, and mindfulness techniques. Life is full of stressors that we cannot completely eradicate as new stressors are continually a part of life. I assist my clients on how to live with these stressors by allowing them to feel their anxiety or depression and understand it.

My focus

I understand abusive and narcissistic relationships and what that may do to your choices especially later in life. I know how abuse can lead to anxiety, never feeling good enough, and always second-guessing yourself. I can help you navigate this pain and assist you in understanding it and breaking free from your own negative thoughts.

My communication style

I utilize a person-centered approach and have unconditional positive regard for all my clients. I want to hear your story, but I may stop you at times in order to challenge specific beliefs or to understand your current thought process. I want to know you and know how we can get you to feel better.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have been a therapist for a long time, initially, I was drawn to helping people and forming the human connection which all of us so desperately need. I have found, post-COVID, the world needs more assistance in mental health than ever before. I absolutely love helping people and I get great satisfaction when I see my clients making progress or being excited because they have completed a task even as small as making their bed,

My goals for you

My goal is not to eradicate your anxiety or depression, as everyone has some level of anxiety or depression throughout their lives. My goal is for you to be able to live with it and understand it. My goal is to also assist you to get out of your comfort zone so you may enjoy life.

My first session with you

The first session is an initial intake in which I want to get to know you, your history, medications, family history, treatment history, and how long you have been experiencing this problem. If there were times when you felt better, how did the problem start, and the thoughts behind that problem? I will discuss how I may help, and possible things to try in between sessions. Also at the end of the session, I will ask if you feel comfortable with me and if you would continue individual therapy with me.
