My name is Adeyemi Green and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Atlanta, GA and work with clients via telehealth. I specialize in working with clients processing anxiety and depression using both CBT and DBT to help clients process their emotions and get to a healthy place.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is contingent on the needs of the client. I use both CBT and DBT to both allow the client to counter the impact of their thoughts and behaviors and to create different life circumstances for themselves and to develop a deeper sense of self and a higher degree of resiliency to process the challenges that life presents.
My focus
I have found that my approach is most effective for individuals who are dealing with dynamics in life-related to change and transitions. These problems often present themselves as anxiety and depression. I work to help clients manage these time periods in life and to help clients develop and incorporate healthy skills that they can incorporate in their lives to improve their circumstances.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, inviting, and calm. I create a space where clients feel comfortable discussing whatever comes to mind without feeling judged.
My journey to mental healthcare
Becoming a therapist aligned with my ultimate life goal of helping others. Years of working with individuals in education and criminal justice have prompted me to be of aid and assistance to those around me. Watching the growth and development of an individual to transition into the best version of themselves provides me with a sense of satisfaction that is incomparable.
My goals for you
Goal setting is a joint process where the client identifies their needs and ultimate wishes and as a clinician, I layer a clinical focus and orientation towards that ultimate goal that the client has in mind. This is a journey and a process that involves review and check-ins during the treatment process.
My first session with you
During our initial session, we will spend a considerable amount of time with you sharing the experiences that have brought you to therapy. You will share your thoughts and feelings and I will inquire about the origins and causes of both your thoughts and feelings. This session serves as a roadmap for our ongoing therapy sessions. The initial session provides insight into you as an individual and provides an opportunity for us to both get to know one another.
