My communication style
There is no wrong approach to therapy as a client. This is your session, and it is what you make of it. My job is to facilitate your challenges and help you process your emotions for your betterment of you. I do so by ensuring that you are comfortable with being yourself and creating a judge-free environment. Welcome to your safe space.
My journey to mental healthcare
I've always known I wanted to become a counselor. Growing up, I was always the "advice-giving" friend; I would listen to others and try to give sound advice based on previous experiences. Cliche, I know! I've seen success stories of others going to therapy, and it inspired me to want to help others take more control of their lives.
My goals for you
During a client's first session, I like to gain an understanding of the goals that you would like to achieve in our therapeutic relationship. We will work to collaboratively complete a treatment plan and understand more about how to achieve these goals.
My first session with you
Clients should expect to ask and answer questions in relation to their mental health background, what brought them to service, and how long has the issue been present. I would like to accomplish a completed treatment plan with an individual in their first session. If this is your first time having therapy, I would love to ease your mind by answering any questions about what our therapy sessions may look like or collaborating on goals that you may have challenges with. My goal is to guide you into becoming a better version of yourself. You may have a lot of questions that you may want answers to. That is okay. I have prepared a list of questions that you are free to ask during our initial session.
