Hello, I am Katherine Holtzclaw. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing online sessions in Georgia. I am trained in family systems and primarily offer supportive and cognitive behavioral therapy. For the past 30 years, I have helped individuals with anxiety, grief, relationship stress, and life change.
My approach
I believe there is nothing as important as feeling heard! I offer supportive and cognitive behavioral counseling. In addition, I commonly reference mindfulness and solution-focused strategies.
My focus
I often work with those in early adulthood managing life transitions and relationship stress, anxiety and decision-making to older adults in their relationships with co-workers, partners, and adult children. I commonly meet with individuals to improve mood and manage stress, anxiety, or grief.
My communication style
I am supportive, calm and assertive and thoughtful.
My journey to mental healthcare
I think connections and meaningful relationships with others are important. I am honored to sit with my clients during times of change. I truly enjoy providing a calm listening ear and maybe some objective feedback.
My goals for you
It is important to me to know how you wish to use each session together whether that is working toward a long-term goal or addressing a recent stress that has just presented itself. Each session I will ask if we need to make changes to shape or change our time together.
My first session with you
I want to know what you wish to talk about and will ask questions to be able to fully understand. I may ask some questions about your past as well as what you would like to achieve from our time together.
