My name is Mary Hill Hart and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Hampton, Georgia, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults, 18-years old and older, and specialize in grief, anxiety, depression, co-dependency, and poor stress management. I mainly use an Integrative or Integral Model approach to help my clients navigate progress so their latter days are so much better than the former days!
My approach
My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use an Integrative or Integral approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-focused (brief) Therapy (SFBT), as these modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their present situation and allow us to work together to chart a path forward.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults, 18 years old and older, who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions, grief, disappointments, and co-dependency. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem or worth. I work with my clients to navigate through the challenges of life and help them build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves or the situation and develop a more positive outlook on life.
My communication style
My communication style is non-judgmental, humorous, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable and safe talking with me about anything.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist as this is a calling as it is a gift to help individuals achieve their goals, realize they are overcomers, anything is possible, and walk alongside them as they become the best versions of themselves which bring me joy!
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. This often starts by building trust between us and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. Over time, we will work together to set goals and track your progress.
My first session with you
What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about how what brought you to therapy, what you have been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand the reasons why you have been feeling lately. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Everyone is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward.
