Welcome! My name is Kelly Dahlke. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Georgia. I am a client-centered therapist who works with clients who are dealing with life transitions, grief and loss, and who may benefit from direction and help outside of their circle of family and friends.
My approach
I enjoy getting to know my clients well, including their life history and current stressors and challenges. I use cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy in my work with clients to develop new coping strategies and ways of thinking and acting in the world.
My focus
I work with clients dealing with a number of disorders, including anxiety and depression, trauma, substance abuse issues, and bipolar disorder.
My communication style
When working with clients I strive to create a calm and welcoming environment. I do have a belief that the therapeutic process is healing and can help clients establish enough distance from their problems to find potential solutions.
My journey to mental healthcare
I enjoy helping people and my parents were both in the helping professions. I am an introvert by nature so it's easy for me to listen and I like finding solutions to problems.
My first session with you
Clients should expect that I will focus on providing a comfortable space to share what brings them to therapy, and we will work on establishing some goals for the treatment process to alleviate distress and focus on building a life the client wants.
