Sherita Tartt, LPC for the State of Georgia. I am a Christian therapist. My approach to therapy and modality that I use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. I focus on the areas of assisting the client in eliminating stress, anxiety and symptoms of depression.
My approach
In my therapeutic practice and approach, I meet the client where they are. I utilize Cognitive interviewing or interventions to assist the client in looking at their problem from a different perspective thus allowing them to see better ways to approach the problem so that the solution is more evident.
My focus
I work with various clients and develop individualized plans to fit their needs. I treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse/recovery and relapse prevention, divorce and family issues, career concerns, Christian counseling, stress and anxiety and grief, and much more.
My communication style
I try to create a therapeutic environment that is laid back and easy going. The goal is to make the client feel comfortable and at ease. Working with me is like laying on a soft pillow under a warm blanket. I guide the session but also allow for the client to lead where they would like to go. We take the journey together.
My journey to mental healthcare
What attracted me to becoming a therapist is my love to help people. I have always enjoyed helping others and coming up with different ways, resolutions and resources to help them. I enjoy being an advocate for those without a voice and helping others find their voice. What drives me to continue to do this work is the joy I see on the faces of those when they identify their worth and value, feel empowered and see their growth and potential.
My goals for you
In goal setting I speak with the client about what their purpose is for coming into therapy and what they would like to work on, and see other than the problem. We talk about goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound.
My first session with you
In a first session with me, clients should expect me to be open and genuine with them. They should expect good communication and rapport building that is genuine. They should expect information gathering in order to establish a treatment plan that is for them and fits their needs. They should also expect homework to work on until their next session.
