Hi there, I'm Nashat!

I am a trained and licensed therapist working remotely for various organizations based in the USA. I am also an adjunct instructor at Grand Canyon University Phoenix, USA. I have vast experience in counseling individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds and with different age groups. I don't treat diagnoses but clients with compassion and empathy. My interventional approach is CBT, Mindful, and TEAM-CBT. Due to my family background, I'm highly sensitive and respectful of various cultures and social backgrounds. My training as a doctor furthered my clinical abilities as a psychologist, allowing me to enlighten my patients on the psychosocial and medical aspects of their psychological and physical illnesses and also a connection between mind and body.

My approach

My approach as a TEAM CBT practitioner aims to bring about substantial and dramatic changes, hopefully during the course of ongoing therapy sessions. I don't believe that personal change and recovery have to be a slow process, takes over months, years, or even decades of treatment. I start by assisting my clients in quickly gaining intimacy, consciousness, and self-esteem as well as a clear knowledge of why they have to struggle with these issues in the first place. That's what it means to feel better. In the hereafter, I work with my clients to teach them effective relapse-prevention skills so they won't have to suffer from months or years of hopelessness, loneliness, and self-doubt. Obviously, no one has the privilege of experiencing happiness perpetually, and we all occasionally sink into pits of despair. However, if you have the right resources, you can easily emerge from that pit and feel joy once more. And that's what it means getting better

My focus

I believe clients should be given an opportunity to give their feedback about their therapist's warmness and empathy. As a result, at the conclusion of every therapy session, my clients rate the session and my skills using quick scales that are incredibly sensitive and accurate. At the start of the following session, I gently go through this material with patients. This is an opportunity for me to repair any harm done and forge a solid relationship with my clients. Research studies have shown fairly that therapists’ perceptions of how empathic and helpful they are can differ greatly from their patients’ perceptions. This means that a patient will often see his or her therapist very differently from the way the therapist sees himself or herself. The evaluation of the therapist, therefore, is crucial in my sessions.

My communication style

I communicate with my clients in a professional, and empathic way. This is difficult since they call for the therapist's ego to be shattered. Even when the patient is utterly discouraged, angry, or critical of the therapist, the goal is to see the world through the patient's eyes and to recognize the deep truth in what the patient is expressing. Despite the fact that most patients will not be cured by empathy alone, compassion and empathy are the main ingredients in the counseling and healing process.

My journey to mental healthcare

I started the journey as a physician and finally became a Ph.D. clinician as I found that the body cannot be treated without having a healthy mind. Physical health and emotional health are intimately intertwined in what's known as the mind-body connection. Our chemistry and biology impact our moods and emotions, as well as thoughts and beliefs. With all of these factors combined, they play a major role in influencing our stress and physical health. I saw people suffering even when physical ailments were treated therefore, I chose a holistic path where I can heal people emotionally and physically.

My goals for you

I have received specialized training in a variety of empathy techniques that aid in building a cordial therapeutic connection with the client. Most people gain from being able to speak freely and openly in an environment where they know that they will be accepted, valued, understood, and respected for who they are. An effective therapeutic relationship, in my opinion, must include empathy. And once the empathetic link has been made, even the most advanced techniques work better. I only use techniques when a strong bond is established and the client gives me an A on empathy.

My first session with you

In my first session, I develop a unique form of collaborative relationship by addressing the "perils" of change. The resistance that holds clients to change. My focus is not to resolve the problem but to wait until the client is actually prepared to start the recovery process.
